Since then, it has displayed the apple start up screen and thats it. If you power down the phone completely and reboot it it goes right back to that screen and hangs up. You may have to restore your media and data files after resetting. It's the only way out for me since I can't get beyond the "Apple Logo" thingy, and I am too lazy to bring it down to the Apple Store.

Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) All of your songs, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and games can be loaded back to your iPod provided that you have them stored in your iTunes Library.
How to restore your iPod:
For Windows:
1. Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes. 2. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer. 3. After a few moments, it will appear in the source list in iTunes. 4. Select your iPod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows. 5. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are: Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod. Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available. Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer. Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer. 6. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore. 7. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off. 8. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.Sarwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684103981348881237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1816721255132850691.post-60293977741981961622010-04-19T09:05:00.005-07:002010-04-19T09:05:56.059-07:00Problem: My ipod touch freezes at the apple and the little loading circle just keeps going and it beeps tried restore but that don' work it says therProblem:

My ipod touch freezes at the apple and the little loading circle just keeps going and it beeps tried restore but that don' work it says there is an error with the resotre can any on help

Solution:

What You have to do is hold the top button and the power button at same time for more than 25 second this will lead to recovery mode, on recovery mode you connect to your pc and then restore it , if is taking longer to get into recovery mode plug it in the power adapter and then put in recovery mode. once you have it restore it.

This happen to me, it got stuck on the apple screen and it was restarting on and off and i could connect it because it recognize it when it turn on and few a second later it turn off.

so just put it in recovery mode first and then restore it.it happened to me too.but instead of leaving it to charge while frozen, i decided to leave it on for the night, till the battery went really low.then it went back to normal and everything started working again and thats when i began charging it again.i hope this makes sense. It depends on the severity and the settings you have given the iPod... Here's the full explanation. I would recommend reading the second paragraph first, but the solution if you really forgot your password is in the first paragraph.
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device on the computer that was used to originally sync the iPhone or iPod touch so that you can reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced to the iPhone or iPod touch, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode but your data will not be present. Refer to "Updating and restoring iPhone and iPod touch software."

"If you enter the wrong passcode too many times, you'll see a message that says "iPhone is disabled" and to try again later. If you repeatedly enter the wrong passcode, iPhone or iPod touch will be disabled for longer intervals, before you can try again. After too many unsuccessful attempts, you won't be able to try again until you connect to the computer you normally sync with. Note that starting with iPhone 2.1 software, there is a setting to cause the device to erase itself after 10 consecutive incorrect password attempts. This setting is off by default. It can be turned on by tapping Settings > General > Passcode Lock after you enter a correct passcode."

The full article can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212Sarwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684103981348881237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1816721255132850691.post-21125420845711447222010-04-19T09:05:00.003-07:002010-04-19T09:05:39.124-07:00Itouch 16gb, Cannot get an internet connectionProblem:

I get a full strength wifi connection but cannot get onto the internet as it keeps saying "Cannot connect you to server" what do I do???

Solution:
Just got my 32 gb ipod touch (with updates) today. I also wasnt able to access safari despite itouch recognized my home wireless network. i wrote down all the DHCP settings. I also have an xbox 360. On my 360 I checked the network connections (purple blade for 360 owners). then checked these w/ my laptop's network settings. then i re-typed the settings in static instead of the DHCP section. Actually most the settings were there already. I had to delete2 or the 3 DNS settings (one was the generic 192.168.2.1--erase that) then there were twice listed identical DNS server #'s: xx.xx.xx.xxx (depending on your own server). I erased one of these & was able to get on Safari right away at this point.I solved my wifi problem by checking the dns settings. When I 1st logged on to my home secure wifi network my router uploaded all of its dhcp & dns settgs to my itouch. My itouch could see my router; I could ping my itouch's ip address from my
pc..but my itouch would get server could not be found in safari.
After trying multiple times to renew my dhcp lease & resetting my network settings on my itouch-all to no avail-I erased all of the dhcp settings that were uploaded to my itouch, and using the static ip setting I manually entered the ip address, subnet mask, router ip address, & dns address into my itouch(all of these settings I copied from my router settings). THE ONE THING I NOTICED WAS THAT THE DHCP OF MY ROUTER ENTERED -2- DNS ADDRESSES INTO MY ITOUCH.I MANUALLY ENTERED -1-DNS ADDRESS-THE ONE THAT DIDN'T BEGIN WITH 192.168.XXX.XXX . IT WORKED!! Itouch
apparently can't distinguish between 2 dns addresses-it needs one to work with. After doing this I was able to access safari.
Beware of dns addresses that begin with 192.168 as these are just octets that home network routers such as linksys use to designate the wan ip address of your router and as such are not true internet dns server ip addresses. i hope this helps:)Try going to the Wi-Fi setting on your ipod touch then tap your home network and when the screen pops up with the I.P Adress, etc...., then go to the button that says " Renew Lease" and Tap it.
It worked for me....hope it helpsTry these settings:

* Go to Settings.
* Select Wi-Fi.
* Chose a network.
* Select the blue arrow next to the network you are connected to.
* Select DNS.
* Change the IP Address to 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

these worked for me on my itouch 16GBHit "Forget this Network", go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network. Worked for me. I was having sam prob. with my 16gb Itouch not being able to connect to internet for 2 days. I tried a few things I read here then I just simply unplugged my netgear wireless modem for about 10sec. plugged it back in and it started to work again and it has 2 dns addresses in it. Hope this helps someone. The password is your encryption code.

To find out your encryption code.....

1. Go to My Computer (or just computer for WindowsVista)
2. Go to Hard Disk Drive "C"
3. Then click on the file with the name of whatever router company you use (e.g. Linksys, Belkin, Netgear, etc.)
4. Then click on Wireless Settings
5. Then at the top, check to see if that's your network name. (If it is, continue with the directions. If it's not, then go back to the file name of your router and choose the other Wireless Settings file.)
6. If it is, click on it and look at the page and look to see if it tells you the encryption code.
7. On your iTouch, go to settings.
8. Then click general.
9. Then click network.
10. Then click "Wi-Fi".
11. Under where it says "Choose a network...", click your network's name. It will then ask for your password. Look back at your encryption code, and type it in.

You should be all set!

If this doesn't help, try going to the nearest Apple store. They can set you up with a technician. (You have to set up an appointment) They have very nice service.

Trying to talk to your router company, probably won't help. Your router is not the problem.I actually just recently bought a new 16gb I touch. At first I didn't know how to operate the internet but figured it out. From your home page, you would choose settings. On the screen should indicate WIFI button. Click that button. You would first set up your wifi on your itouch to the router coming from your house or an unsecured wireless site. After it is connected, then you would select that router connection Ex. Linksys SES..... then it should go into the WIFI settings. Scroll to the bottom at the HTTP Proxy, select NONE. After I changed the setting, I went to safari and was able to access the internet. I hope this helpSarwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684103981348881237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1816721255132850691.post-43945661880481286012010-04-19T09:05:00.001-07:002010-04-19T09:05:24.603-07:00IPod Touch doesnt show in "my computer"Problem:

I can't see my iPod Touch in "my computer", do I have to use iTunes? it is really annoying I would rather just do copy and paste.

Solution:

There's a program called TouchCopy http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/ that you can use to access your iPod Touch as a drive.

If you have a mac, then the iPod Touch does appear as a drive, I learned this when I took mine to the Apple store for some problems I was having and they told me it works on macs, but not PC's. Typical.

There may be other programs similar to TouchCopy that are free if you look. The new iPods are using flash drives inside so now the new iTunes will only recognize the iPod Touch and the old iPods use HARD DRIVES! So just remember that there are no disk mode in the new iPods! The Solution #2 is correct because Ipod nanos all have flash memories but you can still view them through the "my computer" app so it must be true then that the new ipod touch CANNOT be viewed through "my computer"... my guess would be that the softwear available to take information from broken down ipod harddrives is also being used to steal/share music with other ipods... and since that would take business away from itunes they made sure that it wouldnt keep happening...Sarwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684103981348881237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1816721255132850691.post-82239332445623699012010-04-19T09:04:00.006-07:002010-04-19T09:05:08.102-07:00Hitachi 50v500 blueing problemProblem:

I have an Hitachi 50v500 LCD 50" TV that blue streaking happening. I discribed it in a previos query as blue shadow but it is definately blue streaking mainly right in the middle of the TV. It's only 3 years old and I am just sick about it. Helppppp!

Solution:

I am not expert but before you go to a lot of trouble, read all of the post on the infamous "red cloud", "red blob" and "blue streaking". In evey case, it appeared that the light engine was the problem. We just had our light engine replaced and the TV looks perfect. We dealt only with Hitachis Customer Relations Department 800-654-7013. You will have to have a certified tech come out and diagnos the problem. Hitachi will then call and verify, with the dealer, that the problem is a defective light engine and will send out a brand new one.

We were told the part cost around $1500 (Hitachi covers that) however, they will ask you to pay for the install. Our install cost $400. Worth is to us as we paid $3600 for this set 3+ years ago and we have loved this TV. When you first call Hitchi, they will act like they've never heard of this problem but they will give you names of certified techs in your area. Once the tech confirms that it's the light engine, Hitachi will own up to the problem and send out the part.

You really should only deal with Customer Relations ( I listed their 800 number above as you will be chasing your tail so to speak with their regular customer service department. I am beginning to notice the gradual presence of a red spot growing and becoming visible on the screen. It is more noticeable when the picture light level and content is low. When the picture has alot of color and light content the problem is not as apparent. So what is behind this gradual degradation?

Solution:

We took in a 60v500a with the same problem, Customer bought a new set. We took hers apart. Here is what we found.
1 there is a squril cage blower and a small air duct that cools the lcd screens and polarizer lenses. Yes there are 3 polarizer lenses one in front of each LCD screen.
These start to overheat and discolor. Maybe the filter for the fan clogs up.
Don't really know.
You can pull the LE and vaccum the filter clean every 3-6 month.
You can remove the lenses and maybe the tv will look ok maybe not. I have read where some have had there repaired and now they see vertical lines in the screen. This seems to be a quike fix by removing the melted lens.

You have the infamous "red cloud" as they call it and no matter what you personally do to the TV, it will not resolve the problem. The problem is you have a defective light engine and Hitachi is aware of the problem. We started noticing the red cloud in the middle of our TV (we have the 60v500) about 2 months ago and it got worse. After LOTS of online research, we were convinced it was the light engine. When we called Hitachi, they claimed to know nothing about it but THEY DO! They did give us the names of two certified Hitachi dealers in our area and when the tech came out, he could tell within one minute that we had a bad light engine.

I then called Hitachi back and told them that the tech confirmed that we had a bad light engine and all of a sudden, they knew about the problem...imagine that! They told us that they would call the dealer we used and confirm this with them. They did call the dealer and within 2 days, the dealer had a brand new light engine, sent to themby Hitachi, and they came out and installed it...TV is like brand new.

Here's the kicker...there's always a kicker. If your TV is not still under warranty (ours is 3+ years old so ours is not) Hitachi will cover the part...around $1500 but they ask you to cover the install by the dealer. Our install was $400 and they did the install in our home...they did not have to take the TV into their shop. We felt like paying $400 for a $3600 TV (price we paid when we bought it) was worth it!

One last thing, deal only with the Hitachi Customer Relations Department...NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their regular customer service folks will have you chasing your tail...so to speak. The Customer Relations Number is 800-654-7013. If you're TV is not under warranty and you're willing to spring for the install, it's well worth it. Don't let any dealer tell you that you will have to buy this $1500 part. Hitachi will send it directly to them and you should only pay for the install. Good Luck!

Sarwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684103981348881237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1816721255132850691.post-45855219975570392852010-04-19T09:04:00.003-07:002010-04-19T09:04:36.813-07:00Nintendo DS charger plug is stuckProblem:

My daughter just opened up her new DS and my son (a seasoned veteran at the game) helped her set it up. The DS has two fuses, this is a common problem. Google it theres info out there on this.

If your battery is charging up and the light is staying on this is sometimes not a problem to be honest, it could just mean your battery is fully charged. The problem with your DS not powering up could be as simply as a faulty switch. To determine this I would first make sure that your DS is charging up batteries fine, maybe try a friends low battery. if you have a faulty switch this is nothing major to replace but you need to be half decent with fixing stuff dudes to crack open that DS and start playing.

Sarwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684103981348881237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1816721255132850691.post-46331224954681932882010-04-19T09:03:00.006-07:002010-04-19T09:04:07.861-07:00"L" Button dosn't work.Problem:

On my nintendo DS Lite, when I attempt to play a game that has an action set to the "L" button, it dosnt work. The upper screen is not a touch screen.

* Use only licensed Nintendo DS styluses and screen protectors.

* Unlicensed screen protectors can lower the sensitivity of the touch screen. If the problem you are experiencing started happening after you attached a screen protector, you may want to remove it. Please note that some screen protectors can leave behind a residue that may be difficult to clean. If you are planning on removing a screen protector that has been placed on your Nintendo DS, click here for tips on cleaning your screens.

* If the touch screen is not responding when touched, or the accuracy of the screen is off, you may need to recalibrate the touch screen. Click here for help recalibrating the Touch Screen.

* If recalibrating the screen didn't solve the problem (see above step), hold the Nintendo DS at an angle so that you can see where the edges of the Touch Screen meet the housing of the system. Look around the entire edge of the Touch Screen for any foreign material (such as crumbs, etc.) that may be wedged in between the Touch Screen and the housing of the DS. Foreign material in this area can cause the Touch Screen to work incorrectly. If there are any visible particles, please follow these steps for cleaning the screen.

If the above steps do not solve the problem, your system will need to be repaired. Click here for repair information.

your touch screen may or not be dirty that has happened to me before I got my eye class cloth and wiped the screen for a minute and it worked again. if you do not have a eye class cleaner a game stop or at a game store they sometimes have DS cleaning cloths but almost any soft cloth will work. Other wise you are pressing way to hard on you touch screen.

Sarwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684103981348881237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1816721255132850691.post-26339021010875999042010-04-19T09:03:00.003-07:002010-04-19T09:03:35.881-07:00My Nintendo microphoneProblem:

MY NINTENDO DS GAME IS STUFFED UP THE MICROPHONE IN THE NINTENDO DS LITE IS NOT WORKING WHEN I PLAY MY NINTEEN DOGS IT DOES NOT WORK

Solution:

The seperate mic will not work if the mic in the DS is broken.

My Nintendo ds lite also would not respond to voices. I simply took out the battery and held the power slide for a couple seconds. Amazingly the mic works now for both games. I was playing Brothers in Arms and left trigger shoots the gun, and it shot once when i pressed it, but now it won't do anything anymore. I haven't dropped my ds recently or abused it in any way.

Solution:

You need to open your DS. You'll need a precision philips screw driver and a tri-wing screw driver. Get a Q-tip and dab it in water. Next, brush the wet Q-tip on the L button. It's ok if little water goes inside the button. Get one of those air spray cans and spray the button dry. That should fix your DS.

The reason why I think your trigger button is not responding is because there may be dust buildup in your button. I hope this works for ya.

The thing that cross731 said really really helps. This occurs when attempting save codes with the DS and the AR is pulled out or DS powered off. My suggestion if you get a new one, only update codes using the PC software.

Prob: AR keeps asking for game cart. insertion:
Solution: remove AR and put in game cart.

Prob: AR not enough memory to update codes:
Solution: there is more bugs in their software/firmware that doesn't really know when items are deleted and space is free. You must reset AR cart. and then use the PC software to reload all the codes:

a) First I would update the AR PC software (no DS AR connected)
b) Connect DS with AR to PC then update the AR firmware
c) Disconnect DS AR from PC
d) DS off hold A+B when TURN ON DS when DS logo shows press START+SELECT with A+B still down as well, hold for a while. turn off DS
e) Reconnect to PC, turn on DS and drag the PC US codes to the DS side. (Note: I had to do 4 & 5 a couple of times it finally worked)

Prob: AR PC software not seeing the DS AR connection: Solution: The PC drivers are not being found for the NDS link. You need to do the following:

a) close the AR PC software, and disconnect the AR DS.
b) connect the AR DS and then the windows new hardware driver install window pops up. must select using the manual browse option.
c) go the the action replay directory either on the action replay CD you bought or from a extracted version from the web. (NOTE: this is not the installed location, but before where the setup.exe exists) I had lost my CD and did about 10 minutes and found a .rar of the source code.
d) pick the action replay subdirectory and click on install
e) you should see the NDS link drivers being installed.
f) start the AR PC software and attempt to connect the DS AR it should work.

-- I hope this helps anyone --

Have you tried blowing on your game cartridge? somtimes the console games get dusty inside, i suppose if you try blowing in the game cartige it might work.

Sarwarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684103981348881237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1816721255132850691.post-23265326797589298442010-04-19T09:02:00.005-07:002010-04-19T09:02:45.918-07:00Action replay problemsProblem:

i have an action replay ds and i have been playing pokemon diamond.
it has benn fine until a while and it has suddenly stopped reading.when i turn the ds on with the AR it says no game inserted and i cant usb it to the PC either

Solution:

Try resetting the hardware by following these steps: 1/ With the console powered off, hold A+B.
2/ Power up the console while still holding A+B.
3/ As soon as the Nintendo screen is displayed, before our screen stating this product is not endorsed by Nintendo, press and hold Start and Select while keeping hold of A+B.
4/ Continue to hold these buttons until the Main Action Replay screen is displayed, then release.
